Warm clothes including warm and wind proof gloves, beanie and warm shoes are all you need. However, warm clothes means socks of wool and woolen underwear, trousers and jacket that are warm and wind proof.
Glasses is up to you to bring, you will be fine without it. Still, when we reach March and April and sun is strong you should bring sun glasses. We have reindeer skins to sit on the sled.
-
We recommend warm shoes, thick and wind proof gloves and wind proof jacket and trousers. Also woolen underwear that is 100% merino wool is best - put on two layers if it is really cold.
-
Sjusjøen is one of the safest places in Norway what comes to snow and usually we have far too much. Most often season on sleds starts by November and goes on until April/beginning of May. Early season, first weeks of December it could in worse case not be snow yet. If so and you have booked a tour you will be offered a tour on wheels but also given the opportunity to have your money back or find another date for your tour.
-
Yes! Unless you do not want too or are under 13 years old. You will be going two persons per sled, one steering and one sits and you swap at half way. If you however cannot or would prefer to sit that is fine as long as your partner is happy to steer the whole way - which is usually the case. However if you are two persons an both of you need to sit the whole tour please let us know in advance as we need to make sure there are spaces for you with our guides.
-
See directions to our location at Sjusjøen here. Please meet up 10-15 minutes ahead of your time as it is very important that you are not late. In fact then you risk missing your tour.
-
Yes, you can! We are not going fast and you can both steer or sit as you wish. However, as for all guests it is important to listen and do as we tell you in the instruction beforehand which is mainly about how and when to slow down.
-
No, I am afraid we do no not have our own pick up service but it is possible to reach us by public transport, as described here.
-
Gift cards directly from us (with Sjusjøen Husky Tour logo on) is valid until you use it - as long as we are still operating! If however, you have a gift card from the company YouWish you should be in touch with us before the date that is on the gift card.
-
Our shortest tour is 15km and not recommended for children less than 7 years.
-
Children under 13 years old can sit in the leader sled, the one that the guide is using. But it is more fun for the children to go on the sled that their parents are controlling! We are more of an activity for families together.
-
Of course you can! You are free to change your reservation, just please let us know as soon as possible, and preferably more than 3 days ahead of your booked tour. Same with cancellations, 3 days before we will ask for 100% of your payment as we will not have time to reallocate your sled. Se more information under or read our full terms here.
-
If you use our online booking service, your payment will be done and over with straight away.
-
Yes, we have some long Ano-jackets (photo below), warm suits and foot bags to put over your own shoes. it does not cost anything extra but make sure you meet up ahead of your time if you need sth extra as dogs and other guests will not be happy waiting for you. We have some of these warm jackets for you to borrow on the tour as well as foot bags over your shoes. Also we do have some warm suites.

Absolutely! Dog sledding is even more of an experience in tough conditions. Should the weather somehow be too extreme (which has not happened before) we will notify you at least a day before and offer to change your scheduled time/date.
